Black
I had to switch to the black template.
Yesterday my Ipod died and everything that was in it is gone. Lost. Dead. Buried. 6fu.
Besides, I have been wearing glasses since Saturday afternoon cos I can't see a fucking thing from 3 meters away.
Lastly, it just stopped raining and sun's coming out.
These are enough reasons to switch to black.

Dark Angel

Halloween. Something I have never celebrated. In Italy it is not so big. It's more of an American thing. Here in Sydney I happen to hang out with some yankees, alas! LOL. So last night we were invited to this here party in Manly. Superb house, right on the beach. Amazing view.Obv
iously the dress code was very strict. Only costumes admitted. I had no idea wha
t to wear so we went to this store in Surry Hills and hired something. I turned to be... a dark angel. Whatever... By the way those wings were super cool, although I risked several times being flown away literally cos it was rather windy.
The girls that threw the party (the ones in feathers all glittery) did a great job. There were costume contests, the sexiest, the best couple, the best superhero and so on and even a sort of lottery. Prizes included Ipods and stuff like that. No, I didn't win. They also put together an entertaining act with Elvis. Great gig.
The place was packed. Nice guys, nice chicks, heaps of booze. I wanted to go so bad cos of all this ranting about the ice block... wtf is the ice block? They carved a block of ice so that they could pour in alcohol, tilted the thing to make it flow to on end and you had to drink it from the edge. Fantastic. Highly addictive.
Some costumes were really great. My favourites were Edina and Patsy Stone from Ab Fab, Bindi and Little Dead Riding Hood.
But the pregnant couple dressed up as Brit and K-Fed were cool, too.
My goal was to get drunk big time, which didn't happen for #$@%'s sake! I was obviously altered but I didn't collapse on the stairs like I did in Iceland - wonder if this time people would have stepped on me again and left me there or rolled my unconscious body on the side so that I wouldn't be in the way -. I even managed to call a taxi and all. What's wrong with me? Next party is scheduled for the 11th. Gay wedding. They married in Canada this summer and they're having a cocktail reception. V. fancy. Don't think I'd look cool lying unconscious on the ground in the reception of a four-star hotel. Not classy, Luca, not classy. We'll see what happens.
Stay tuned.

Featherdale

Since what we do all weekends is simply to stroll around the city and eat eat eat, this time I decided not to give in to the temptation and that we were going to do something different. Ok, last weekend we went to Wollongong but that was a one-off. So the child that still is quite alive in me wanted us to go to Featherdale Wildlife Park. It's in Blacktown, a dreary suburb in Sydney half an hour from Central by train. Featherdale is a very nice place to spend a few hours. Wha
t they basically do there is they save endangered specimen and threatened
species, they cure them and help them mate and after a while they set them free again. Well, at least that's what they say... Besides, the fact that they call it a park and not a zoo makes it look better, doesn't it?
This place is also well-known cos you can interact with animals. I had never fed a wallaby before and never seen a koala. In NSW it's illegal to
hug and cuddle koalas, you can only pat them. You have to go to Queensland or if you run into a bunch of them in the wild then you can, but they can be a little dangerous cos they have very strong claws. We don't get along very well. I like them though, cos they sleep up to 18 hours a day. Like O. What a blessing...
Wallabies and kangaroos are very friendly and lazy. I did like them a lot. But they jump irrationally so I'm
not quite comfortable being around them. Especially in the wild, I'd just run cos they have extremely strong legs and can be quite aggressive. Weird creatures.
My favourites are still snakes. So smooth and kind. If I have a nice and stable job I'm gonna get myself one on my 25th birthday. A python. There are some varieties that don't get too large. I can't keep a three-meter long reptile in a flat.
But I'm sure I'll find one with nice colors, not aggressive and with the perfectly V-shaped head. The cutest thing.
There were heaps of birds. So much noise I'd have shot them all down. They makes me uneasy. V. cruel race.
I didn't know that a croc can live up to 130 years and, despite what everybody believes, they can't eat too much cos they have the smallest stomach. They have a chicken thigh a day. Useless creatures. Where's the fun?

Crack
Sydney/Wollongong/Sydney

I feel like sharing :-)
Here are some pictures from the trip to Wollongong this weekend, which ended abruptly due to weather conditions. We spend the Sunday (tennis free I might add) afternoon wandering around the city, it was just lovely. Some were taken in Sydney, some in Bondi, Kiama, Wollongong. Hope you like them. (I know: my vampire eye is scary... but I had surgery on Friday and now I'm fine!)

Outcome
I'm at lunch. I was flipping thru one magazine we have here in the office while I was pecking at my sandwich(es...) and I came up with my top 10 places I wanna go to. Clever, uh?
Here I go.
1. New York (I can't really comprehend why I have not been there yet)
2. Tokyo and Osaka. In one word Japan. Now it is even closer...
3. Hawai. Some (gay) newly-weds I've recently met went there on their honeymoon and I am starting to be extremely envious.
4. New Zealand. I can almost see it from here
5. Tasmania. Same as above.
6. Antarctica. Unfortunately you have to be a millionaire to afford a trip there... Have a look at adventureassociates.com
7. Beijing, Shanghai and the Chinese Venice, Zhouzhuang (which I have really no idea of where it is located - gotta ask Helen)
8. Siberia, Moscow and Saint Petersburg, despite bad reviews from VN.
9. India. It's a pity cos I don't think I will have 3 or 4 months available anytime soon. Dream on...
10. Iceland and San Francisco. I simply miss them.
V. pleased with the outcome of today's lunch break.
