Letters

Lately I've been away from home. I haven't had the chance to meet my family, some of my friends, people I simply feel close to. We talked sporadically.
These months have been quite intense and many times I felt the sudden urge to sit in front of my laptop and jot down my thoughts. I wanted to fix them. Other times instead I wanted to communicate them to some special people that are somehow part of me and my life, even if they are so far away.
I'm a quite impulsive guy and I tend to type everything on my soon-to-be crashed computer and send emails. It all happens very fast.
Here I have rediscovered the pleasure of writing letters. It seems to me that one's handwriting is much more personal and real. Recognizing somebody's signs on paper is just intimate and gives me joy.
This is what I first thought this morning when I picked up the mail that slipped through the door.

What next?

Ok. Well, I decided to name my very first blog What next? because I made a very important decision a while back. I used to live with people who were always trying to plan everything, every single detail was decided way before there was need to. Then I moved to Iceland. Here I realized that things work differently in reality. Most of us live in the uncertainty and often ask themselves "What am I gonna do next?". It's quite normal I suppose. I used to be rather scared and worried thinking about my future. Now I don't work like that anymore. I prefer to see that uncertain and unsteady side of my life with a positive attitude, laughing at whatever life will bring about. Now I am just excited about my future, even though I barely know what I'm gonna do or where I am going to. And it is not scary at all. It just gives you energy.
This is what lies behind the title of my blog. And I have a smile on my face now.

That being said, I'll just briefly introduce myself to all of you out there.
My name is Luca and I come from a very small village in Northern Italy. I moved to Milan three years ago when I was 19 for uni. I study International Economics and Management and I'm graduating in September. At the moment I am living in Reykjavìk as an exchange student. And I love it!

Warm ciaos from Iceland!

Luca

Clouds

It's been almost four months since I moved to Iceland. During all this time I had the chance to travel around this amazing country with the guys I live with in Reykjavìk.
What struck me most is the way landscapes change with different lights, time and, obviously, weather. It seems like Iceland is just one half of what you see. The other half is continuously changing shape, color and light right above us.
We drove around in the mountains, on the glaciers, on some island, in the barren desert, in the lava fields. I took some nice snaps I'd like to share. I wanna give you a different view of Iceland, the one I have perceived, which is half made of Clouds.
